detox

With the spring detox, we get rid of extra pounds! The keywords here are rich in nutrients, low calories and detoxification. A detox program helps the body get rid of toxins. I prepared healthy suggestions and a one-day detox program, in which we will include the right recipes and foods, today for you and of course for me too :)

Our tips and recipes are suitable for anyone who wants to feel good (unless you are allergic to the recommended foods). As a small introduction, I have summarized for you the basics of a successful cleansing. Here we go!

5 Tips for the right Detox

    Drink a lot!

Your kidneys cleanse about 1,500 litres of blood a day. Pretty much, right? If we drink enough, we make it easier for our kidneys to do their job and the toxins are expelled more quickly. Therefore, the rule of thumb is that we should drink two to three litres of water a day.

    Adequate sleep

Good sleep not only strengthens our immune system but also relaxes our detoxification system. Restful sleep is therefore an important part of a detox diet. An adult needs seven to eight hours of sleep a day to start the new day well-rested.

    Plenty of exercises

Plenty of exercises will help your body detoxify itself. The combination of exercise and fresh air stimulates the metabolism particularly well, as the motor functions of the lymphatic system actually continue and toxins are removed faster.

    Massages for relaxation

Our skin is our largest organ and accordingly contributes a lot to the purification of the body. Massages stimulate the blood circulation in our skin and thus improve its function. The relaxation that comes with massage also has a positive effect on metabolism. For this, if you cannot go to a private massage parlour, at least massage your legs, arms, abdominal area with cream and use a massage brush for your back.

    A varied diet

A varied diet helps our detoxification system work optimally. For this reason, you should always pay attention to a balanced and nutritious diet.

Ideas and recipe tips for detox therapy

Beverages:

Smoothie: The vegan antioxidant herb blend makes the ideal base for a delicious smoothie. If you mix fruit like apples or bananas in a blender with water (don't use milk when detoxing), the detox drink is ready right away. You can also add protein powder or other powders to it.
Sauerkraut juice: Sour makes you happy and sauerkraut helps detox. Its juice is obtained from fresh white cabbage and is digestive. Additionally, sauerkraut juice contains a lot of vitamin C, which is considered an immune booster and scores with few calories.
Turmeric juice: Delicious turmeric juice made from ginger-like roots can be drunk pure or as a juice mixture and is especially effective before breakfast.

Breakfast snack

Start your day by detoxing with an (optional) vegan porridge with peanuts. Rich in fibre, porridge, therefore, promotes digestion. Alternatively, crunchy muesli with yoghurt and fruit provides plenty of energy and ensures a perfect day in the morning.

Lunch and dinner

Hot dishes should also be on the menu when detoxing, such as gluten-free vegetable patties or alkaline soups. For the latter, an organic vegetable juice with herbs is the basis. A cup of broth is also suitable as a liquid snack. And for "quick patties", there are ready-made vegetable-grain mixes that can be seasoned and refined at will.

Booster for your detox treatment

Psyllium: For a fibre-rich beverage, psyllium husk can be mixed in juices, almond and rice milk or whey. After a swelling time of about 10 minutes, the drink is ready to be enjoyed. Psyllium husk is also suitable for thickening soups or puddings.
Flaxseed: Whether it is muesli, a seasoning for casseroles, or an ingredient for baking bread: Flaxseed not only gives food a certain flavour with its mildly savoury taste, it also stimulates metabolism. Small but powerful seeds, detox time should not be missing in any kitchen

One day detox - it works like this:

It is best to plan your detox day as a weekend or holiday. Take your time - just for yourself. Preparation for your detox day starts the night before: Go to bed early that evening. Try to stay calm. After waking up the next morning, lie down for a moment and prepare yourself mentally for the new day. What are you planning? What are you looking forward to? What are you grateful for? Concentrate on your breath and start your day with some meditation. Because in addition to the right diet, your thoughts and adequate exercise also play an important role in detox treatment.
During the detox cycle, you should avoid the following products:

  •     Sugary foods
  •     salt
  •     Coffee
  •     alcohol
  •     Red meat
  •     Dairy products

Your body needs these nutrients

During a detox session, your body is happy to take in valuable nutrients. For this reason, you should be careful to eat plenty of nutritious, high-fibre foods. You should combine your menu with adequate amounts of water, unsweetened tea, self-squeezed juices or smoothies.
