Freddie Mercury was born on the 5th of September 1946 in Zanzibar as Farrokh Bulsara. Many people don't actually know this, but Freddie Mercury is just a stage name because Farrokh thought that it fits better with his stage character. He was the Lead singer of the British rock band, Queen from 1970 to his death in 1991. He also made 2 Solo-Albums in the '80s: Mr. Bad Guy and Barcelona (featuring Montserrat Caballe).
Freddie developed AIDS in the later years of his career which made a lot of things in his life harder. That was also the reason that he died in 1991. He had a relationship with Mary Austin from 1970 until 1975 when Freddie outed himself to her as homosexual. Although they broke up, they were still close friends until Freddie eventually passed away.
In total, Freddie recorded 14 studio albums with Queen. Their last album, Made in Heaven, which was released 4 years after Freddie's death in 1991, had Freddie's vocals included, although they didn't really record it together since Freddie was not alive at that point.
Due to his Homosexuality and probably because he didn't want any, Freddie never had children. In the last years of his life, he lived in a happy relationship with Jim Hutton, who also died in 2010.
I think Freddie Mercury was not only an amazing Musician and a very talented individual, but he was also a very sweet, caring, and nice man. He cared a lot about his friends and closest ones. One time, when the wife of the band's drummer Roger Taylor was struggling with breast cancer, he was helping her get through that difficult time and did everything he could to help her. She was eventually cured. Many people that worked with Freddie can also agree on all of the above-mentioned. Freddie is one of my favorite musicians simply because, in my opinion, he is one of the greatest musicians that ever lived. I don't dislike a single song written or performed by him. I mean, how could I? His voice, his genius, and his legend will live on forever and he will never be forgotten.
