Hello to everyone. You know, I love to prepare garden decoration articles from time to time. But today I want to do something different and proudly introduce my garden. We love our garden, where my husband and I do all the work . As the children grew up, they started to help us but apart from that, we do not get any professional help. Here are 76 pictures from our wonderful garden .
We have a garden of 300 square meters. And our apple garden. Our house was a vineyard in ancient times. The family who owns the vineyard and those who work with them stay in the house. The street we live in, has always had vineyards. During the Second World War, people broke the vineyards, planted potatoes, and vegetables, and thus avoided starvation.
Now, where the vineyard is, we have a few apple trees and a cherry tree. When we bought the house 15 years ago, the garden was in a very shabby condition. It was extremely neglected, it was covered with weeds and there were hardly any cultivated plants except for a few lilac trees.
My dream of the garden was a romantic garden that always resembled an English garden. I planned plenty of green plants and types of flowers that bloom in all seasons. Although we tried a few exotic plants in the early years, over time we created a garden suitable for the Austrian climate by talking to my neighbors, reading publications on this topic, and participating in forums. We sent seeds to each other with people on the forums.
Of course, it took years for the garden to take its final shape. While preparing the article, I reviewed thousands of pictures we took over the years and chose 76 pictures. That's why some of the pictures are from past years.
When we buy a new plant or flower bulb, seeds, we also order online, apart from visiting the flower greenhouses. We ordered our roses from David Austin from England. We also had some orders from the Netherlands. They send the plants to your address at the right time and with the appropriate packaging system.
Our garden is alive all year long. We have different flowers from Februar, since November and evergreens in winter.
Yes, this is our garden. I hope I haven't bored you with pictures, but I would like to upload all of them if I could :) We better understood the importance of owning a garden especially during the corona pandemic. I never get bored if I don't leave home for days. It is incredibly peaceful to read my book while drinking my coffee in my garden and to listen to the sounds of birds and the stream flowing in front of the house.
