Our recipe for gingerbread granola
Ingredients:
For about 500 grams of Christmas cerealPreparation time: approx. 30 minutes (without baking and cooling)
300 g coarse oatmeal
100 g hazelnuts
80 g almonds
50 g buckwheat
75 g dark chocolate coating
6 tbsp maple syrup
5 tbsp neutral oil
3-5 tsp gingerbread spice
Depending on which nuts or dried fruit you like best, you can change the list of ingredients as you like. How about, for example, pumpkin seeds or dried cranberries?
Christmas cereal - how it works:
Step 1: roughly chop the hazelnuts, almonds and dark chocolate couverture.Step 2: Heat the maple syrup with the oil in a pan or saucepan until everything is liquid and mixed.
Step 3: Put all ingredients (except the chocolate coating) in a large bowl and pour the oil-syrup mixture over it. Mix the bowl contents well.
Step 4: Spread half of the Christmas muesli on a baking sheet with baking paper and bake the muesli for about 10-15 minutes on a medium rack at 180 degrees top/bottom heat. While half of the gingerbread granola cools down, the second half can be put in the oven.
Attention: Every oven is different and the granola burns quickly! So keep a close eye on the muesli. Once it's browned well, you should take it out of the oven.
Step 5: Let the Christmas cereal cool well. When it cools down, the granola hardens and you can break it into small pieces by hand. Now all you have to do is mix in the chopped chocolate and the gingerbread granola is ready.
Attention: Would you like to give away the Christmas cereal? The gingerbread granola works particularly well in an empty yoghurt glass. You can easily decorate the lid with wrapping paper, a string and small pendants such as decorative balls or fir branches.
