However, one thing is completely different this year: Because film fans, who have always enjoyed watching the award on TV or in the stream, unfortunately, missed out this time and have to forego broadcasting it.

It had previously been announced that the HFPA's invitations to actors to act as presenters had fallen on deaf ears. This is why the HFPA had already canceled the traditional "red carpet" this week: Before the gala event that is otherwise common at the Globes, the stars from film and television stroll to the event, are available for short interviews, which are then always accompanied by broadcasts. Also, no guests from the industry will be invited, and the usual after-parties will not take place either.

The HFPA wants to honor its own philanthropic endeavors in a 90-minute meeting and announce internally the winners, who will later be announced online. While the organization had streamed the announcement of the nominations (nominee list) on its website and on its YouTube channel, the actual announcement ceremony will not be broadcast publicly.

Previously, the HFPA, which has established itself as the organization of the foreign press in Hollywood, was heavily criticized for awarding the 2021 award. When it became known that not a single black was represented among just over 80 members at the time, the organization was reorganized with boycotts. The broadcaster NBC, which usually broadcasts the Golden Globes, had therefore suspended the broadcast of the award ceremony for 2022 and announced that it would resume in 2023 when the renovation had progressed - the HFPA claims that this has already been done sufficiently.

The traditional practices of the HFPA were also generally criticized. Nominally, the HFPA is a "non-profit organization" ("non-profit"), the income from the environment of the Globes is used for charitable purposes. However, the HFPA members are courted around the award, receive invitations to special screenings and private encounters with the creatives, and the valuable gifts customary in the industry are also dropped for them - which various industries actually give to the stars for advertising purposes.

But don’t worry. If you want to have more information about the Golden Globe 2022 and to watch the awards you can go to the https://www.goldenglobes.com/
