Active Monday 51 - How To Prepare Your Yogi Teas At Home?

Hi my dear friends. It's almost the last weeks of the year. Here we are at 51. Active Monday week. We have only one more week and then comes 2020. I will start again with number 1 at ney year.
But today, I say relax and enjoy the last 2 weeks. I have a very relaxing yoga video for you today and some recipes about how to prepare your yogi teas at home.

Classic spice blend for yogi tea

The classic consists of only five basic ingredients. It can be wonderfully refined with a dash of milk or vegetable milk and a little sweetness. According to Ayurveda teaching, he should support the Pitta type.

For 100 grams of spice mix you need:

50 g Ceylon cinnamon sticks
15 g cardamom capsules
15 g of dried ginger - you can dry ginger yourself by slicing it and drying it like berries or buying dried ginger
12 g cloves
8 g black pepper

Yogi tea is actually not a tea at all, but a delicious blend of spices. Here you will learn how to make it yourself at home in stock.

To prepare the spice mixture for an infusion, you can crush all ingredients with a pestle or in a spice grinder. It is best to keep them in a jar or jar with a screw cap and store them cool and dry.

Preparation of the yogi tea
To brew the spiced tea directly in the cup, pour three to five grams of the mixture (about a heaping teaspoon) into a tea strainer and pour hot water over it. Cover and let steep for eight to ten minutes.

When prepared in a pot, the taste develops even better, especially if the spices have only been crushed very roughly. Add three to five grams (a heaped teaspoon) of the spice mixture to each cup (approx. 250 millilitres of water) and simmer for about 20 minutes. Then pour the liquid through a sieve.

Yogi tea variations: for more serenity or energy

In order to adapt the spicy tea enjoyment to your personal preferences and needs, you can supplement the classic spice mix with tasty herbs and fruits as you wish. A recipe for a soothing and an invigorating mixture follows as inspiration. The preparation is the same as for the basic recipe.

Soothing yogi tea

For 50 grams of this spiced tea you need:

25 g of the classic spice mix
10 g fennel seeds
5 g of dried orange peel
5 g of dried lemon balm leaves
5 g of dried lavender flowers
Tip: You can find herbs and tea ingredients that you do not collect and dry yourself in drugstores, health food stores or at retailers specializing in medicinal herbs such as Kuehne Herbs.

The recipe is similar to Yogi Tea's happiness tea but is simpler.

Invigorating yogi tea

50 grams of this mixture is made from:

25 g of the classic spice mix
10 g of dried peppermint leaves
10 g of dried lemon peel
5 g of dried ginger
Lemon, peppermint and the extra portion of ginger give a warming energy kick and give the drink a wonderfully fruity-spicy taste.

For individual yogi tea variations, you can experiment with other ingredients as you like. For inspiration, it may be worth taking a look at the ingredient lists of other yogi teas and spice tea blends.

If desired, the spiced tea can also be freshly mixed and prepared each time instead of being made in stock. So you can also use one or the other fresh ingredient such as fresh ginger, peppermint leaves or fruit bowls.
